I often talk about hustling in business and in sales but there is more to hustle than work.
Hustling should start with your reason why. What are you passionate about? What do you work hared for? What is it that you’re trying to accomplish? What does success mean to you?
I guarantee you will accomplish more and be more successful if you identify your ‘why’. Are you hustling to put your children through university, to buy the expensive sports car, to travel the world, or to retire. What ever the reason, once it is identified it should inspire you to work hard and achieve it while also fuelling your business.
Use your work ethic and your hustle mentality and apply your energy, your wisdom, your connections, your resources, and most importantly your passion put it into areas that scale outside of work to influence and journey with others in the community to help make a difference.
My reason why is to help give a hand up to troubled youth. There were many circumstances in my life that lead me to this passion, you can read more about it in my book Hustle, but I want to offer opportunities to youth that just need a helping hand to get their life on a better course. I was fortunate to team up with the Calgary Dream Centre and founded their youth camp.
I am thankful that I have not only been able to help this amazing cause financially but to also contribute to the follow up and mentorship of the youth that have attended the camp. Their journey isn’t over and I am excited that I get to travel with them and help lead them to a better future.
Real hustle should overflow into all areas of your life. All the things that you’re passionate about should motivate you to hustle in business to provide the opportunity to achieve your reasons why. And when you’re hustling with others towards an important cause, you know you’re doing something right.
